Nobody wants a flat tire, but at least once in your life it will happen to you. If you have never changed a flat tire before it can be a daunting task. By following the steps listed below you will be able to quickly change your flat tire and be back on the road before the tow truck would have even arrived.

Step #1: Find a level surface where the car will not roll and it is safe from traffic.
Step #2: Remove the hub cap and use a wrench to loosen the nuts just enough to break resistance.

Step #3: Put the jack under the car frame where it meets the metal portion of the frame. Make sure not to put it where there is plastic. Raise the jack to support the car. Crank the jack to lift the car off the ground. Lift the car high enough so that you can take the tire off. Make sure that the car is still stable.


Step #4: Remove the nuts completely.
Step #5: Remove the flat tire.


Step #6: Place the new tire on the hub and tighten the nuts so they are snug.
Step #7: Lower the car so that it barely touches the ground.
Step #8: Finish tightening the nuts completely with a wrench.


Step #9: Lower the car completely to the ground and remove the jack.
Step #10: Tighten the nuts again and replace the hub cap.
Step #11: Place the old tire in your trunk or car and go to a mechanic to replace your spare tire as soon as possible.
